An important notice has been issued to LPG gas consumers across the country. Gas companies have urged all domestic gas connection holders to complete e-KYC before August 15th. If this process is not completed on time, consumers may be forced to purchase gas cylinders at commercial rates instead of domestic ones or face difficulties booking refills.
According to gas companies, the purpose of e-KYC is to verify every gas connection, prevent fake or unauthorized connections, and ensure that government subsidies reach the right people. Therefore, all distributors have been instructed to complete e-KYC for as many customers as possible by August 15th.
In many areas, a large number of customers still haven't completed e-KYC. Therefore, gas agencies are appealing to customers through phone calls, SMS, and in-person visits to complete the process. It's also reported that some customers are receiving messages on their mobile phones stating that their LPG refill bookings have been blocked.
How to complete e-KYC?
Customers can complete e-KYC by visiting their nearest gas agency or using the respective gas company's official online facility. This process involves verifying the customer's Aadhaar card, registered mobile number, and other required identification documents. Once the process is complete, connection information is updated. Therefore, companies and distributors have urged everyone to complete the eKYC process before August 15th.
