Important news has emerged for LPG consumers. For the past few days, LPG consumers have been wondering a lot. The deadline for completing e-KYC for gas connections has now passed. The deadline was September 14, 2026. However, consumers are now confused about whether re-KYC is necessary once e-KYC is completed.
Once a typical LPG consumer completes e-KYC through Aadhaar biometric or face authentication, they often don't need to repeat it every time. However, if there are any significant changes to the consumer's records, KYC details may need to be updated.
For example, if there's a change in the registered mobile number, address, or other connection information, consumers should update their records with their gas distributor. According to official KYC information, any change in address or mobile number should be reported to the distributor.
However, specific rules may apply to beneficiaries of the PMUY (Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana). Therefore, it's important to check with your LPG company whether re-KYC is required to receive subsidies or benefits related to the scheme.
Customers who haven't yet completed their e-KYC should complete it as soon as possible. KYC-related information and services are available on the official PMUY portal.
Therefore, don't assume that "once e-KYC is done, there's no need for re-KYC for the rest of your life." It's important to check whether further KYC is required based on your connection details, the scheme, and the applicable company regulations.
