Actually, the biggest challenge in front of Pandavas in Kurukshetra was Grandfather Bhishma, in front of whom even the greatest warriors were not able to stand.

One night, Duryodhana told Bhishma that he was being lenient towards the Pandavas, which enraged Bhishma, who made a promise that could have changed the outcome of the next day's battle. He prepared five arrows that would have almost certainly killed the Pandavas. However, Lord Krishna, with great wisdom, snatched that last weapon from Duryodhana.

Why did Duryodhana doubt Bhishma?
For your information, Bhishma was the commander of the Kaurava army during the Mahabharata War. He loved the Pandavas, but due to his pledge to the throne of Hastinapur, he fought on the Kaurava side. This is why Duryodhana felt Bhishma was being lenient towards the Pandavas.

When he was accused, he became hurt and angry and said that he would use five arrows to kill the Pandavas the next day.

Despite Bhishma's assurances, Duryodhana remained unconvinced that these arrows would kill the Pandavas. He feared they might be destroyed by morning. Therefore, he asked Bhishma for the arrows and kept them with him.

Sri Krishna got information

According to the Mahabharata story, when Lord Krishna came to know about this, he devised a plan. According to the story, Arjuna had once saved Duryodhan from trouble and in return Duryodhan had promised to give him five things of his choice. So he reminded Arjuna about this.

, according to the story, after Krishna's request, Arjuna went to Duryodhan and asked for five things, that is, five arrows. Although Duryodhan did not want to give them to him, but he was helpless in front of his promise. He had to give the arrows.

Bhishma understood Krishna's trick.
When Bhishma learned of this incident, he understood that Krishna was behind it. He knew that Krishna was not only Arjuna's charioteer but also a brilliant strategist who understood the course of the battle. Bhishma accepted Krishna's wisdom and understood that Krishna himself was protecting the Pandavas.
