Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has set a new benchmark in Indian cinema, surpassing its predecessor in both scale and emotional depth. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film has been widely praised for its technical brilliance and powerful storytelling. Ranveer Singh’s dual portrayal of Hamza and Jaskirat has particularly stood out, earning acclaim for its intensity and nuance.
Despite its nearly four-hour runtime, the film has managed to keep audiences engaged throughout, largely due to its strong emotional core. The response has translated into impressive box office numbers, with the film reportedly grossing ₹200 crore worldwide on its opening day.
Among those praising the film is acclaimed filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli, known for his mastery in blending grandeur with emotion. Sharing his thoughts on social media platform X, Rajamouli wrote that while he admired Dhurandhar 1, the sequel “surpasses the original in both scale and soul.”
He highlighted the film’s writing, casting, technical execution, music, and direction as “flawless,” but emphasised that its emotional stakes truly anchor the narrative. “The writing weaves plot twists that create genuine, emotionally charged tension,” he noted, adding, “It takes courage to make and release a four-hour film.”
Rajamouli also lauded Ranveer Singh’s performance, calling it “mesmerising” from start to finish. He singled out a key emotional sequence as a “masterclass in acting,” and praised actor R. Madhavan for effectively portraying the desperation of a nation.
“Congratulations to the entire team for this magnificent success,” he concluded.
Following his remarks, production houses Jio Studios and B62 Studios expressed gratitude, stating that his appreciation meant a great deal to the entire team.
With widespread industry praise and strong audience reception, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge appears to have cemented its place as one of the most talked-about films of the year.
