Instagram Feature Update: You can read messages without the other person knowing, 'Read Receipts' feature has arrived on Instagram

Has it ever happened to you that you saw someone's Instagram message but didn't want to respond immediately? And the other person sees a "Seen" or blue tick status, which only adds to the confusion. To solve this problem, Instagram has introduced the amazing "Hide Read Receipts" feature.

With the help of this feature, you can silently read anyone's message and the other person will not know at all that you have seen his message.

How to use this feature?

Turning on this feature is very easy:

Go to your Instagram app and click on your profile.

Click on the three lines (menu) above and go to Settings and Privacy.

Scroll down a bit and click on 'Messages and story replies'.

After this, go to the option of 'Show read receipts' and turn it off.

Important things:

Bidirectional privacy: When you turn this feature off, you can read other people's messages without showing 'Seen', but the flip side is that you also won't be able to see who has read your messages (i.e. it works both ways).

If you want, you can also turn it on or off by going inside a specific chat and going through its chat settings.
