Veteran Bollywood actor Govinda, once considered one of the biggest stars of Hindi cinema, has finally responded to trolls questioning his financial status after videos of him performing at small events surfaced online.

The actor, who delivered several blockbuster comedy films in the 1990s and early 2000s, has been away from the big screen for the past few years. Recently, social media users speculated that he was facing financial difficulties after a video showed him dancing at a school function.

Govinda’s Strong Response to Trolls

Speaking in an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Govinda clarified that the events people were calling “small shows” were actually prestigious gatherings.

He said that one of the programs was organised for a Chief Minister, while another event was held for a Member of Parliament (MP). According to him, social media often creates misleading narratives without knowing the real context.

“People can make headlines as they wish on social media,” the actor remarked while addressing the rumours.

Viral Video of Actor in a Small Car

Another video that circulated online showed Govinda travelling in a small car, which sparked further speculation. Some users claimed that the actor had switched from luxury vehicles like a Mercedes-Benz to a modest car due to financial troubles.

Responding to these claims, Govinda explained that the venue he visited had strict parking protocols. His own vehicle had to be parked outside the premises, and only a specific car was permitted inside the location.

Long Absence From Films

On the professional front, Govinda was last seen in the film Rangeela Raja, released in 2019. The movie failed to perform well at the box office, and the actor has not appeared in any major film since then.

For some time, there have been reports about his comeback project titled Duniyadari, though the makers have not yet announced an official release date.

Fans Await Comeback

Despite the long gap from films, Govinda continues to enjoy a loyal fan base. Many fans are still hopeful that the actor—known for his unmatched comic timing and energetic dance moves—will soon return to the big screen.
