Check your lungs with spirometry
You can easily purchase a spirometry device online, which helps you monitor your lungs. It provides information on expiratory volume and force vital capacity using your smartphone. Studies have shown that spirometry results are excellent for adults and asthma patients. You can monitor your lung function patterns by using a home device twice a week. If you notice anything wrong, consult a doctor immediately.
Hold your breath for 20 to 30 seconds
If your lungs are healthy, you can easily hold your breath for 30 to 50 seconds. In such a situation, you should definitely do the balloon blowing test at home. First, inhale and hold your breath for about 30 seconds. If you are not able to inflate the balloon, then there may be a problem in your lungs. You should get your lungs checked by a doctor. If you are doing the balloon test, then you can easily inflate a balloon of more than 20 centimeters. But if your breathing is weak, then you will feel difficulty only after 6 inches. This is a very easy test and anyone can do it.
Do a walk test for your lungs
If your lungs are functioning properly, you can cover a distance of 400 to 700 meters in 6 to 7 minutes. To test your lungs, perform a 6-minute walk test. This will provide information about your leg capacity and muscle strength. Set a specific distance. Set a timer and test your lungs.
