EPFO is constantly making changes. Many new features have been introduced. Soon, the facility to withdraw PF funds through UPI and ATM will be available. Now, a major update has come. According to this, the limit for employees to withdraw PF funds for the marriage of their sons and daughters has been increased. The contribution withdrawal limit has been increased. Now, eligible members can withdraw money for marriage up to 5 times. EPFO ​​​​has extended a helping hand to employees in this time of need.

How much money can I withdraw for marriage?

According to EPFO ​​rules, employees can withdraw up to 50% of their contribution and the amount received for marriage. In addition to marriage, employees can also use this facility for the marriage of their son, daughter, brother, or sister. Suppose the total amount of the employee's contribution and interest in your EPF account is ₹4 lakh. Under this new rule, the maximum withdrawal amount is ₹2 lakh.

How many times can you withdraw money now?

Previously, you could withdraw money three times for your children's marriage and education. However, the EPFO's Central Board of Trustees has changed the rules effective October 2025. Accordingly, withdrawals for marriage can now be made five times. Employees can withdraw money for their children's education up to 10 times. This means that once a withdrawal is made, employees can withdraw money repeatedly if needed. Of course, this requires a sufficient balance in your PF account.

How many years of service is required?

According to the new changes, employees must have worked for at least 12 months to withdraw the minimum amount from their PF account. Previously, seven years of service was required to withdraw money for marriage. This change by the EPFO ​​will benefit employees. They will be able to access this amount in times of emergency.

EPFO has upgraded its software, CITES 2.01. The new system will allow members to see in advance the maximum withdrawal amount per EPF rules for medical treatment, home purchase, marriage, education, etc. This will make it easier for members to determine the amount they want to claim.
