Akshay Kumar–Priyadarshan Reunion Revives Hit Legacy Ahead of ‘Bhoot Bangla’ Release

Akshay Kumar, popularly known as Bollywood’s ‘Khiladi’, is gearing up for multiple upcoming projects, with Bhoot Bangla currently generating the most buzz. The film holds special significance as it marks his return to the horror-comedy genre after two years, as well as his long-awaited reunion with director Priyadarshan.

The excitement surrounding the project is largely driven by the iconic actor-director duo, which has delivered several memorable entertainers over the years. Akshay and Priyadarshan are collaborating after a gap of 15 years, having last worked together on Khatta Meetha in 2010. Their reunion has heightened expectations among fans, given their strong track record at the box office.

Bhoot Bangla will be their seventh collaboration. The duo has previously worked on films such as Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Bhagam Bhaag, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, De Dana Dan, and Khatta Meetha. Among these, four films were successful at the box office, while the others performed moderately, cementing their reputation as a dependable comedy pair.

The film is slated for release on April 10 and features a strong supporting cast including Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Vamika Gabbi, and Asrani. Notably, Akshay Kumar and Tabu will be seen sharing screen space again after 26 years, having last appeared together in Hera Pheri (2000).

Looking ahead, the duo is not stopping with Bhoot Bangla. They are also working on two more projects—Haiwaan and Hera Pheri 3. While Haiwaan is reportedly nearing completion and may release in August 2026, Hera Pheri 3 remains uncertain due to ongoing legal issues.

Blending fantasy, folklore, and comedy, Bhoot Bangla is expected to revive the classic charm associated with Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan’s collaborations, as audiences eagerly await their return to the big screen.
