If psychological thrillers excite you, there's a web series based on true events from 2006 that will keep you up until the end of its 16 episodes. It's called "The Glory," available on the OTT platform Netflix. It has an 8.3 rating on IMDb.
"The Glory" is a South Korean series. Yes, K-dramas , the name of which often makes many of us think that they only make great series based on romance stories. But you'll surely remember the thrill of "Squid Games." South Korea has produced many excellent horror-thriller films and series in the past few years. The good thing is that K-dramas haven't limited themselves to zombie stories.

"The Glory" is written by Kim Eun-suk and directed by Ahn Gil-ho. Its cast includes Song Hye-kyo, Lee Do-hyun, Lim Ji-yeon, Yeom Hye-ran, Park Sung-hoon, and Jung Sung-il. It is a revenge thriller, some scenes of which are based on a true incident from 2006. A group of middle school students in Cheongju, South Korea, extorted money from a fellow student in their class for nearly a month, repeatedly beating her and burning her with various objects.
The Story of 'The Glory'

This story tells the story of a woman (Song Hye-kyo) who was severely harassed by high school bullies. She suffers and endures the abuse, but refuses to give up. She spends years developing a formidable plan to take revenge. The story takes a turn when she returns to the same school as a teacher.

The story centers on Moon Dong-eun, a victim of violence during her school days. Moon's dream of becoming an architect becomes a horrific reality when Park Yeon-jin, the leader of a bully gang, and five of her wealthy classmates inflict extreme cruelty on Moon. These ruthless boys abuse her both physically and mentally, to the point that she drops out of high school. She is abandoned by the school staff and even her own mother.

Years later, Moon Dong-eun returns to the same school as a teacher.
Years later, Moon returns to her former elementary school as an elementary school teacher. Whether by chance or a calculated move, she becomes the homeroom teacher of the young daughter of Park Yeon-jin, the ruthless bully leader from her past. Thus, Moon enters the wealthy and luxurious lives of her enemies. But Moon isn't foolish enough to rush into her revenge.

Change is not easy, it takes careful planning and patience.
Moon Dong-eun waits. Instead of immediate revenge, she takes the long game. She executes her revenge like a board game of 'Baduk' (Go). She employs a patient strategy. She exploits the greed, pride, drug addiction, and mutual distrust of Park Yeon-jin and the five others. Another intriguing character in the story is Joo Yeo-jung, a traumatized plastic surgeon who becomes her 'executioner.' Moon further enlists Kang Hyeon-nam, Park Yeon-jin's domestic help, as Park has also abused her.
