It should be noted that the JMC recently made several significant demands at the Finance Commission meeting.

According to media reports ,
the 8th Pay Commission has issued a notice on its portal stating that authorized/nominated nodal/sub-nodal officers and offices may submit their suggestions to the 8th Finance Commission in an organized manner by ministry, department, or union territory. The notice states that all responses must be submitted by May 31, 2026.

The meeting was held on April 28.
In the meeting held on April 28, many major issues were raised by NC-JCM. The biggest demand from the employee organizations is regarding the fitment factor. The employees have demanded a 3.83 fitment factor from the 8th Finance Commission. Earlier, during the 7th Finance Commission, the fitment factor was 2.57. Due to which the minimum basic pay had become Rs 18000. If the 3.83 fitment factor is kept, then the minimum basic salary will increase from Rs 18000 to Rs 69000.
