"16-Year-Old NEET Aspirant Dies by Suicide After Dream of Late Mother: 'She Called Me to Come'"

A heartbreaking incident has emerged from Solapur, Maharashtra, where a 16-year-old NEET aspirant, Shivsharan Bhutali Talkoti, died by suicide after experiencing severe emotional distress following his mother's death. A suicide note found near him reveals the depth of his grief and the psychological toll it took on him.

“Mother Came in My Dream and Said, ‘Come Son…’”

Shivsharan, a bright student who had scored 92% in Class 10, was determined to become a doctor — a dream he shared with his late mother. She passed away just three months ago due to jaundice. Since then, Shivsharan had been living with his uncle and grandmother, but the emotional void left by his mother's death seemed impossible to fill.

According to the suicide note, Shivsharan wrote:

“I should have gone when my mother went, but I stayed because of uncle and grandmother… Yesterday, my mother came in my dream. She asked me why I was sad and told me to come to her. That’s why I decided to go.”

“Uncle, You Loved Me More Than My Parents”

The note expressed immense gratitude toward his caregivers:

“Uncle, I’m dying… Please take care of my sister. Keep grandmother happy. You gave me more love than even my parents.”

He ended the letter by asking them to take care of themselves and ensure his grandmother isn’t sent back to his father.

Police Investigation Underway

The incident took place at his uncle’s house, where Shivsharan was found hanging. A case has been registered at the Solapur City Police Station, and the authorities are continuing their investigation.

A Wake-Up Call

This tragic incident underlines the urgent need for mental health support among teenagers, especially those dealing with grief, pressure from academics, and emotional isolation. The pain of losing a parent — particularly at a young age — can have a devastating psychological impact if not properly addressed.
