During winter, skin often loses its natural glow due to dryness, tanning, and lack of moisture. While soaking in mild winter sunlight feels pleasant, it can damage the skin and make the face look dull. Although skincare is important, you don’t always need expensive market products to restore your glow. Natural, home-based remedies can be just as effective—when used the right way.
Ayurvedic experts say that traditional remedies passed down from our grandmothers still work wonders for skin health. If your face looks dark or lifeless in winter, this simple homemade face pack made with gram flour and other natural ingredients can help bring back softness and radiance.
Ingredients you’ll need
-
1 teaspoon lentils
-
1 teaspoon oat powder
-
8–10 strands of saffron
-
1 teaspoon gram flour (besan)
-
1 teaspoon rice flour
-
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
-
2 teaspoons curd (yogurt)
-
2 teaspoons potato juice
How to prepare the face pack
First, grind the lentils and oats into a fine powder using a mixer grinder. Transfer this mixture to a bowl and add gram flour, rice flour, turmeric, saffron strands, curd, and potato juice. Mix everything well to form a smooth, lump-free paste.
How to apply
Apply the pack evenly on your face. You can also use it on your hands and feet if they feel dry or tanned. Leave it on for 15–20 minutes. Once it starts to dry, gently massage the skin in circular motions and then wash it off with normal water. For best results, use this pack two to three times a week.
