Voter List Corrections Made Easier Through ‘Book a Call with BLO’; ECI Launches New Initiative During UP SIR

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has introduced a new voter-friendly facility titled ‘Book a Call with BLO’ to simplify voter services during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Uttar Pradesh.

As part of this initiative, the deadline for filing claims and objections has been extended till February 6, 2026.

What Is the ‘Book a Call with BLO’ Facility?

Under this system, voters can schedule a phone call with their respective Booth Level Officer (BLO) to seek guidance or assistance related to:

  • Inclusion of name in the voter list

  • Deletion of entries

  • Correction of personal details

The service is available on the ECI’s official portal voters.eci.gov.in and through the ECINET mobile application.

After logging in using a registered mobile number or OTP, voters can book a call by:

  • Entering their EPIC number or reference number, or

  • Providing details such as state, district, assembly constituency, and booth number

Once booked, the concerned BLO will contact the voter within 48 hours.

Draft Voter List Published

The draft electoral roll for Uttar Pradesh was published earlier this week. According to official data:

  • 28.9 million voters were removed during the SIR process

  • 125.5 million voters were retained in the draft list

Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa has urged voters to make maximum use of the new facility to resolve queries related to the Special Intensive Revision.

Claims and Objections Period

As per the daily SIR bulletin issued by the Chief Electoral Officer:

  • The claims and objections window will remain open from January 6 to February 6, 2026

  • Eligible voters can submit:

    • Form 6 for inclusion of names

    • Form 7 for objections/deletion

The Election Commission clarified that names will be added to the final electoral roll only after due verification and submission of required declarations.

Political parties have appointed Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to collect claims and objections from the public. The Commission also noted that complaints submitted without the prescribed forms or declarations will not be considered.
