Vivo is all set to expand its foldable smartphone portfolio in India with the launch of the Vivo X Fold 6. The company has confirmed that the new foldable will be unveiled at an event on October 6, alongside the Vivo V80 and Vivo S2 FE.
The Indian price and exact storage variants are yet to be announced. However, the specifications of the model launched in China give us a good idea of what to expect from Vivo's latest premium foldable.
Blue Design Teased Ahead of Launch
Vivo India has already teased the X Fold 6 on social media, showing the smartphone in a blue finish.
The design appears similar to the version introduced in China, although the company has not yet confirmed how many colour options will be offered in India.
The launch event could also feature a Mixed Reality (MR) headset. Vivo has teased the device, but details regarding its availability, price and specifications remain unknown.
Large 8.02-Inch Foldable AMOLED Display
The Vivo X Fold 6 is built around a large 8.02-inch internal AMOLED display.
The foldable screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate, making scrolling, animations and compatible games appear smoother. When the phone is folded, users get a 6.51-inch cover display for everyday tasks without having to open the device.
The phone is expected to run OriginOS 6 Fold based on Android 16.
Flagship MediaTek Processor
Under the hood, the X Fold 6 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super chipset.
The processor is aimed at flagship-level performance and should be capable of handling demanding applications, multitasking and high-end gaming.
The combination of a powerful processor and a large foldable display makes the device particularly suited to users who want a smartphone that can also function as a compact productivity device.
200MP Zeiss Camera Setup
Photography is another major highlight of the foldable.
The X Fold 6 features a triple rear-camera system developed in partnership with Zeiss. The setup includes a 200-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilisation, along with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a periscope telephoto camera.
The combination is designed to cover multiple shooting scenarios, from detailed standard photographs and landscapes to long-distance zoom shots.
7,000mAh Battery With Fast Charging
Despite its foldable form factor, the X Fold 6 packs a large 7,000mAh battery.
It supports 80W wired fast charging and 40W wireless charging, giving users multiple ways to recharge the device.
The phone also carries IP58 and IP59 ratings for protection against dust and water under specified testing conditions.
Slimmer Than It Looks
Vivo has focused heavily on keeping the foldable relatively slim and lightweight.
The device is reportedly around 4.40mm thick when unfolded and weighs approximately 228 grams.
Maintaining a slim profile while offering a large battery and a sizeable foldable display could be one of the phone's major design advantages.
Vivo X Fold 6 Price in China
In China, the Vivo X Fold 6 starts at CNY 7,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. This works out to roughly ₹1.14 lakh based on the approximate conversion mentioned.
The top-end 16GB RAM and 1TB storage variant is priced at CNY 10,999, equivalent to around ₹1.58 lakh.
However, these are Chinese prices, and the Indian pricing could be significantly different after accounting for taxes, duties, distribution and local positioning.
What to Expect at the India Launch
With a large 8.02-inch AMOLED display, flagship MediaTek processor, 200MP Zeiss camera system, 7,000mAh battery and fast wired and wireless charging, the Vivo X Fold 6 is shaping up to be a high-end foldable smartphone.
The biggest details still missing are its India-specific price, storage configurations and colour options. These are expected to be revealed at the October 6 launch event.
