A disturbing video from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh has gone viral, in which a man is allegedly seen spitting on rotis while making them at a wedding.
Police identified the man as Danish and arrested him on November 2 after the video went viral. A case was registered against him at the Pahasu police station and he was later sent to jail, officials said.
The incident joins a growing list of similar cases reported in the state, prompting authorities to tighten laws against food contamination and introduce jail terms of up to 10 years.
Senior police officer Tejveer Singh confirmed the arrest and said the investigation is ongoing. The incident follows similar cases in Uttar Pradesh, including arrests in Ghaziabad and Meerut, which prompted the state government to impose stricter laws.
Background and Context of the incident
The disturbing incident was reportedly recorded during a wedding ceremony in Aterna village, under the jurisdiction of the Pahasu police. The footage, which circulated widely on platforms like X and WhatsApp, drew sharp criticism from users and community leaders, with many calling for stricter enforcement of food safety laws.

Quick Police Action and Official Statement
Police took immediate action after the video surfaced. The accused, Danish, a resident of the Pathan Tola area of Bulandshahr, was located and arrested within hours. Video evidence played a key role in confirming his involvement.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Tejveer Singh said such acts, especially during communal and festive gatherings, would not be tolerated. "Such behavior is intolerable and highly offensive to social harmony," Singh said. He assured that strict legal action would be taken under the relevant laws.
Officials reiterated that these cases are being treated as serious public offenses, not minor misdemeanors, as they could undermine social trust and harm public health.
