The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has changed the rules for updating Aadhaar, you should also be aware of these. Today we are going to give you information about the changes made by UIDAI. UIDAI has now divided the name changes into different categories based on their nature. Accordingly, different documents can now be demanded from people for every type of change. The revised Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) has been implemented from September 18. The Unique Identification Authority of India has given different procedures for everything from correcting small spelling mistakes in the name to changing the name after marriage or divorce and changing the full name.
This will be considered a data entry error.
If the name was correct in the documents submitted at the time of making Aadhaar or updating the name earlier, but the name is wrongly entered in the Aadhaar record, then it can be considered a data entry error by the Unique Identification Authority of India. Under this, the necessary documents will have to be submitted along with the affidavit of Annexure B prescribed for adults and proof of identity or proof of relationship, and in the case of minors, along with the affidavit of Annexure C prescribed for minors.
If the full name
is correct in English but incorrect in the regional language, a separate procedure is in place. If you wish to change your full name or the change is significant, you may need to submit the required identification documents along with the gazette notification.
