Lucknow: Doctors at the Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow have given a young woman a new lease on life. She suffered from a rare condition since birth. Strange and unbelievable as it may sound, she was born with two uteruses and two vaginas. These conditions caused her significant hardship since childhood. She had no control over her urination, and she faced significant difficulties while defecating. But now, after a successful surgery, her life has returned to a relatively normal level.

Originally from Ballia, she had no control over her urination since birth, so she had to constantly use diapers. Initially, it was thought that the problem would improve with age, but that didn't happen. These problems were not only physical but also socially stressful.

The family visited several hospitals in Ballia for treatment, but none provided a lasting solution. Finally, they brought him to the Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow. Doctors there offered a glimmer of hope.

Examination at the Lohia Institute revealed that the young woman had three major birth defects. She had two fully developed uteruses and two vaginas. Furthermore, her urinary tracts were opening in the wrong place, causing constant urine leakage. Her anus was also located too close to her vagina and hadn't developed properly. All these problems made it extremely difficult for her to lead a normal life.

His case was very complex. A team of doctors led by urology expert Professor Ishwar Ram Dhayyal handled the case. After much deliberation, the decision was made to perform the surgery in three stages.

In the first phase, the urinary tract was repaired, which improved the stomach-related problem. Following this, the misalignment of the urinary tract was corrected through two separate surgeries. The aim was to regain control over urination.

According to Professor Dhayyal, all three surgeries were successful. The result is that the young woman is now able to control her urination. Furthermore, defecation-related problems have also largely disappeared. This treatment was very challenging, but its success has completely transformed the patient's life. Doctors at the institute say this is the first such case in the state.
