Samsung to make a major announcement ahead of CES 2026; Galaxy Z TriFold may go global at The First Look event

Samsung has officially announced its The First Look event, scheduled to take place in Las Vegas two days before the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2026). The company is expected to make some major announcements, and the spotlight could be on its newly introduced triple-folding smartphone, the Galaxy Z TriFold. After launching the device in South Korea recently, Samsung is now expected to unveil it for the global market at this event in January.

Samsung First Look event date
Samsung confirmed that The First Look event will begin at 8:30 PM IST on January 4, 2026, at the Latour Ballroom in Wynn Las Vegas. During the event, Samsung will outline its 2026 roadmap and share its vision for the DX division. The company will also showcase its new AI-powered customer experience.

The event will be livestreamed
Viewers will be able to watch the livestream of the event from home via Samsung Electronics’ official YouTube channel. This will be Samsung’s first major event of 2026. Following this, the company is expected to host another event soon, where it may unveil the Galaxy S26 series, including the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Ultra, and Galaxy S26+.

More announcements expected
While Samsung has kept most details under wraps, Android Authority reports that the Galaxy Z TriFold will be officially announced for global markets at The First Look event. This includes a possible reveal of the device’s US pricing. On December 2, Samsung confirmed that the phone will be available in regions such as Taiwan, China, UAE, Singapore, and the US, but pricing details were not disclosed.

Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold price
In South Korea, the Galaxy Z TriFold is priced at KRW 3,594,000 (around Rs 2.2 lakh) for the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage variant. In Europe and the US, the expected pricing is EUR 2100 (about Rs 2.20 lakh) and USD 2400 (about Rs 2.16 lakh), respectively.
