The CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal, launched by the central government, has reopened. Importantly, those whose claims were previously rejected or whose applications were incomplete can now apply.
Millions of people across the country have invested their savings in Sahara Group cooperatives. They've been waiting for their money back for a long time. Now, there's some relief for them. The CRCS (Sahara Refund Portal), launched by the central government, has reopened. Importantly, those whose claims were previously rejected or whose applications were deficient can now resubmit their claims. The government says the entire process is being conducted online, transparently, and in a timely manner, ensuring that genuine investors receive their money directly into their bank accounts.
What is Sahara Refund Portal?
This portal was launched by the Ministry of Cooperation. Its purpose is to return money to investors who invested in four cooperative societies owned by the Sahara Group. This step was taken following an order from the Supreme Court of India, which forced the government to initiate the process of returning investors' money. Refunds are sent directly to investors' bank accounts through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).
Investors of which committees will get the benefit?
If you deposited money with cooperative societies like Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Ltd, Saharayan Universal Multipurpose Society Ltd, Humara India Credit Cooperative Society Ltd, or Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd, you can apply for this refund. All eligible investors with deposits in these societies can apply online using their Aadhaar and bank details.
You can claim up to Rs 10 lakh again
The resubmission portal currently allows resubmission of claims up to ₹10 lakh. If any deficiencies were found in your claim or your application failed verification, you will have been notified through the portal. You can now correct those deficiencies and resubmit your application. Once your claim is resubmitted correctly, it will be processed within 45 working days.
Claims up to Rs 50,000 have been processed so far.
The government has initiated the process of disbursing funds up to ₹50,000 in the first phase. Investors whose documents were found to be in order have received funds of ₹50,000 or less directly into their bank accounts. Those whose applications were found to be deficient have been notified via text message so they can re-upload the correct documents. According to the information, eligible investors are expected to receive the first installment of up to ₹50,000 starting March 2026. Priority will be given to those whose applications have already been approved.
How to do resubmission?
1. Visit the official refund resubmission portal at mocresubmit.crcs.gov.in/resubmission .
2. Enter the mobile number linked to Aadhaar.
3. Login by entering OTP.
4. Upload certificates etc. related to your investment.
5. Fill in the bank account details.
6. Submit the form and download the receipt, but your bank account must be linked to Aadhaar, only then the money will be transferred through DBT.
Where to contact for assistance?
If you're experiencing technical difficulties or need information, you can contact the helpline numbers 011-20909044 or 011-20909045. However, the government has clarified that only claims submitted online through the portal will be accepted. Offline applications or claims made through an agent will not be valid. The portal is being opened in phases to avoid overloading at once.
