Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, held a press conference in Delhi to present evidence supporting his allegations of large-scale voter list manipulation favoring the BJP, specifically in Karnataka’s Mahadevpura assembly constituency. He claimed that more than 1.25 lakh votes were fraudulently taken during the recent Lok Sabha elections. Gandhi highlighted several irregularities, including nearly 12,000 duplicate voters, over 40,000 voters with fake addresses, thousands possessing invalid photographs, and over 33,000 cases of misuse of Form 6.
He revealed startling details such as entries with “House number 0” and a father's name recorded as “hhgassjk,” pointing to fabricated data. Additionally, there were instances of multiple individuals voting from the same house number—80 voters from house number 35 and 46 from house number 791—which raised serious doubts about the integrity of the electoral process.
Gandhi also pointed out discrepancies in Maharashtra, alleging that 40 lakh mysterious voters were newly added within five months, far exceeding the actual population growth, raising concerns over the reliability of voter lists there. He criticized the Election Commission for not providing machine-readable voter list data, which hampers transparency and detection of irregularities. According to Gandhi, a thorough six-month investigation by his team unearthed these findings, contradicting internal survey expectations and election results. The opposition leader demanded urgent action and greater oversight to safeguard the democratic process.
