Union Home Minister Amit Shah said Dharmendra’s death is an irreplaceable loss for Indian cinema. Shah wrote that Dharmendra, who rose from modest beginnings, left an everlasting impact on the film industry.
He added, “Dharmendra ji brought every character to life and captured the hearts of viewers across generations. May God give his family and fans the strength to bear this loss.”

Rahul Gandhi calls it an “irreparable loss”
Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi also expressed deep grief, calling Dharmendra’s demise an irreparable loss to the world of Indian art.
“His contribution to cinema across nearly seven decades will always be remembered with respect,” Gandhi wrote, offering condolences to the late actor’s family and admirers.

Mallikarjun Kharge: “A cherished star is no more”
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said the Indian film industry has lost a shining star.
“Dharmendra, honoured with the Padma Bhushan in 2012, ruled the hearts of film lovers for decades with his powerful acting and simple lifestyle. His passing marks the end of an era,” he said.

Dharmendra passes away at 89
Dharmendra had been unwell for some time and was receiving treatment at home after a recent hospitalization at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. He breathed his last on Monday, November 24. His death has left the nation in shock and grief, with millions remembering his warmth, versatility, and unmatched charm.
