Chinese smartphone brand Poco has started the first sale of its new 5G smartphone, the Poco M8 5G, in India. Thanks to an attractive launch offer, the phone is now available at a significantly reduced price, making it a strong contender in the mid-range segment.

Price and launch offers

The Poco M8 5G was launched in India on January 8 and is available for purchase starting today. The smartphone’s base price is ₹18,999, but under the launch offer it can be bought for just ₹15,999, giving a straight discount of ₹3,000.

This special price is valid only for the first 12 hours, from 12 noon to 12 midnight on January 13. The offer includes a ₹1,000 launch benefit, along with an instant cashback of ₹2,000 on payments made using ICICI, HDFC, or SBI bank cards.

Storage variants and colours

The Poco M8 5G is available in three variants:

• 6GB RAM – ₹15,999

• 8GB RAM + 128GB storage – ₹16,999

• 8GB RAM + 256GB storage – ₹18,999

During the launch period, the phone can be purchased in Carbon Black, Glacial Blue, and Frost Silver colour options. The device is available exclusively on Flipkart.

Poco M8 5G specifications

The smartphone features a 6.77-inch Full HD+ 3D curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 3,200 nits. It also supports Wet Touch 2.0, allowing smooth operation even with wet fingers.

Powering the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, built on 4nm technology. The phone runs on HyperOS 2.0, based on Android 15, and Poco promises four years of OS updates and six years of security updates.

Camera, battery, and safety

For photography, the Poco M8 5G comes with a 50MP primary rear camera and a 2MP depth sensor, while the front houses a 20MP selfie camera. The device also supports 4K video recording.

It packs a large 5,520mAh battery with 45W fast charging and 18W reverse charging support. In terms of durability and security, the phone offers IP65 and IP66 dust and water resistance ratings along with an in-display fingerprint sensor.
