New Delhi. Today, Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi witnessed the spirit of a 10-year-old boy when President Draupadi Murmu presented the Prime Minister's National Child Award to Shravan Singh of Ferozepur. Everyone's eyes were moist as they saw the medal around Shravan's neck. This young warrior displayed remarkable courage during Operation Sindoor on the India-Pakistan border. This child from the border village of Chak Taran Wali has become an example for the country. At his young age, he accomplished what even adults find difficult. Despite the scorching heat of May and rising tensions on the border, Shravan's courage never wavered.
How did he help with Operation Sindoor?
After receiving the award, Shravan shared his experience in a very innocent and proud tone. He said, "I'm from Ferozepur. When Operation Sindoor began, soldiers came to our village. They came to protect the country. I thought, let's help them. I used to take milk, tea, lassi, and ice for them. I feel very happy that I'm receiving this award. I never even dreamed that I would receive this honor." Shravan's words won the hearts of everyone present.
Shravan Singh, who aspires to become an army officer,
is currently a fifth-grade student at a government school in Mamdot. When challenges increased during Operation Sindoor on the border, Shravan became a support for the soldiers. He delivered supplies like water, milk, and lassi to border outposts daily. His selfless service at such a young age was a lifeline for the soldiers. Shravan's father, Sona Singh, is immensely proud of his son's bravery. According to his father, Shravan has considered army soldiers his heroes since childhood.
The Indian Army's Golden Arrow Division had already recognized Shravan's bravery. The Army honored him by declaring him the youngest civilian warrior. Recognizing his passion for the soldiers, the Army has funded his education so that this border guard can complete
his studies without any obstacles in the future. Shravan's only dream is to wear the Indian Army uniform when he grows up and serve his country. Today's honor is the first major step towards that noble goal.
Shravan became an inspiration for the nation.
Shravan's story teaches that there is no age limit for patriotism. He demonstrated that even a small contribution can boost the morale of the army. This child from a small village in Ferozepur is today an inspiration to all of India. Today, the President honored Shravan, along with 20 other extraordinary children from across the country, with this honor. These awards are given to children for their civilian bravery and exceptional service. Shravan's name has now been etched in golden letters in the pages of history.
