Navy Personnel Arrested for Brutal Murder of Former Girlfriend in Visakhapatnam

A shocking case of murder has emerged from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, where an Indian Navy personnel allegedly killed his former girlfriend and dismembered her body in an attempt to destroy evidence. The accused, identified as Ravindra (30), was posted at INS Dega and has since been arrested by the police.

According to investigators, the victim, Monica (31), was a resident of Tatichetla Palem in Visakhapatnam. The two reportedly met through a dating application in 2021 and remained in contact over the years, frequently meeting at public places across the city.

Police said that Ravindra got married to another woman in 2024, following which tensions escalated between him and Monica. Preliminary findings suggest that the victim had allegedly threatened to reveal their past relationship to his wife. Investigators also stated that financial disputes, including a sum of approximately ₹3.5 lakh, contributed to repeated conflicts between the two.

On the day of the incident, Ravindra allegedly invited Monica to his flat in the Gajuwaka area, where an argument broke out. Police said he strangled her during the altercation. In an attempt to conceal the crime, he later ordered a knife online and dismembered the body into multiple parts.

Investigators revealed that some body parts were stored in a refrigerator and a suitcase, while others were reportedly burned in a secluded area near Simhachalam. The gruesome nature of the crime has drawn widespread attention and concern.

Police have taken Ravindra into custody and are continuing their interrogation to establish the full sequence of events and gather further evidence. Officials indicated that forensic teams are also involved in the investigation.

The incident has drawn comparisons to previous high-profile cases involving similar methods, raising renewed concerns about violent crimes stemming from personal relationships.

Authorities have assured that strict legal action will be taken, and the case will be pursued under relevant sections of the law.
