Cooking gas has become a necessity in every household. If you use an LPG connection, this information regarding eKYC is very important for you.  The government and petroleum companies have mandated the eKYC process to update gas customer records.

A nationwide campaign is underway to address this issue. If eKYC isn't completed by August 16th, customers could face numerous difficulties with gas booking, subsidies, and other services. The goal is to ensure that the benefits of gas-related services reach the right customers.

eKYC is required for all LPG customers, but some customers should complete it as a priority. This includes those who have never updated their information or who have recently changed their mobile number, home address, or other personal information. If you receive an SMS or call from your gas agency requesting eKYC, these customers should complete it without delay.

If eKYC isn't completed by the deadline, your new entry on the agency's server won't be considered updated. This could cause problems when booking a cylinder. Furthermore, subsidy deposits into your account could be withheld.

To complete eKYC, bring your Aadhaar card and gas connection passbook to the agency. The staff will then verify the necessary information with your Aadhaar number. After this, eKYC will be completed using biometrics and your information will be updated.

If you don't want to visit an agency, you can do this from home. Open the official website or mobile app of your gas company, such as Indane, Bharat Gas, or HP Gas. After logging into your account, go to the eKYC or KYC Update section. Here, enter your LPG customer number, registered mobile number, and Aadhaar number. Then, verify the OTP and complete the eKYC process.

To complete eKYC, have your Aadhaar card, gas connection passbook, or LPG customer number, and your Aadhaar-linked mobile number handy. If the gas agency asks for it, you may need to provide another form of identification or address proof. If your current mobile number isn't linked to Aadhaar, update it first to avoid any problems receiving the OTP. Never share your OTP, Aadhaar number, or bank account information with strangers.
