Motorola has expanded its G-series smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the new Moto G Max. The phone is aimed at users who want a combination of long battery life, a high-refresh-rate display, and capable everyday performance.
The biggest highlight is its massive 7,000mAh battery, while other specifications include a Snapdragon processor, a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 120Hz display, and Android 16.
Moto G Max price and sale details
The Moto G Max has been launched in India in a single configuration with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.
The smartphone is priced at ₹27,999 and will be offered in three colours: Pantone Alaskan Blue, Pantone Malaga, and Pantone Stargazer.
The phone will be sold through Flipkart, with sales scheduled to begin on August 20 at 12 noon.
At launch, customers can get an instant ₹1,000 discount on eligible Axis Bank and ICICI Bank credit card transactions. An additional exchange bonus of ₹1,000 is also available as part of the launch offers.
6.72-inch 120Hz display
The Moto G Max features a 6.72-inch Full HD+ LCD display with a resolution of 1,080 × 2,400 pixels.
The screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a 120Hz touch sampling rate, which should make scrolling and animations feel smoother.
Motorola claims the display can reach up to 1,050 nits of peak brightness. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.
Snapdragon processor and 6GB RAM
Powering the smartphone is a 4nm Snapdragon 6S Gen 4 chipset paired with 6GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
Motorola also offers its RAM Boost feature, which can use internal storage to provide up to 24GB of virtual RAM.
For security, the phone features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor along with face unlock.
The Moto G Max weighs around 213 grams, which is understandable considering its large battery.
50MP Sony primary camera
For photography, the phone comes with a dual-camera setup on the rear.
The main camera is a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA 600 sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. It is accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera offering a 119.5-degree field of view.
For selfies and video calls, the smartphone gets a 32-megapixel front-facing camera.

The smartphone packs a 7,000mAh battery and supports 30W TurboPower charging. Motorola claims the device can provide up to 63 hours of battery life on a single charge, although actual usage will vary depending on factors such as screen brightness, network connectivity, apps, and gaming.

Android 16 and long-term software support
The Moto G Max runs Android 16 with Motorola's Halo UI.
The company promises two Android OS upgrades along with three years of security updates. This gives buyers a clearer software-support roadmap compared with phones that receive limited update support.

The smartphone supports dual-SIM 5G and 4G LTE connectivity. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
