The notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang has once again made headlines in Canada after claiming responsibility for shootings at three Indian restaurant locations in Surrey, British Columbia. Goldie Dhillon, a known member of the gang, took to Facebook to admit involvement in attacks on the Ustaad G76 restaurant chain outlets located at 13025 76 Ave, King George Blvd, and Lougheed Hwy.
According to Dhillon’s post, the attacks were carried out in retaliation against the restaurant owner for allegedly mistreating female employees and withholding salaries from several workers. The gang warned that any reopening of the restaurants or similar complaints would result in further consequences. Dhillon’s message was framed as a stance to protect the rights of laborers and hardworking individuals. The post also mentioned names including Rip Ankit Bhadu Sehrwala, Jitender Gogi Maan Group, Kala Rana, Aarzoo Bishnoi, and Sahil Duhan Hisar, sparking intense discussion in the local community.
The Surrey Police Department has acknowledged the viral claims and intensified security measures at the targeted restaurant locations. No injuries were reported during the shootings, as the businesses were closed at the time; however, exterior damage from gunfire was confirmed.
This violent episode follows closely on the heels of an earlier attack by the same gang on rival businessman Navi Tesi’s properties, including his home and office, allegedly due to extortion disputes involving millions of rupees. Videos of those shootings also circulated widely on social media. Authorities are investigating the incidents amid growing concern over gang-related extortion and violence affecting the South Asian community in Canada.
Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang has been officially designated as a terrorist entity by Canadian authorities, elevating its leader’s profile internationally. Despite this, the gang continues to orchestrate violent acts abroad, posing significant challenges for law enforcement in Canada and India as they coordinate crackdowns on its operations.
