Many questions arose before the BCCI after Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli announced their retirement from Test cricket just before the England tour. The Indian team is definitely feeling the absence of these two giants in England. After the defeat in the third Test against England, the BCCI is missing these two cricketers.
Rajiv Shukla, Vice President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has given a big statement on the retirement of Virat and Rohit. He said that the decision to retire is the player's own and no one in the cricket organization can force him to take this decision.
Rajiv Shukla said during the King Charles event that we all are missing Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. He said that Rohit and Kohli had taken the decision to retire on their own.
BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla also said that it is BCCI's policy that we do not ask any player to retire. Both of them have retired on their own will. We will always remember them.
India will have to do this to win the series
In the five-match Test series being played between India and England, the host team has taken a 2-1 lead. Now India will have to win both the remaining matches to capture this series. This does not seem easy. India had achieved a big victory against England in the second match.
