The incident occurred in Bamanwadi village, under the Jurhara police station in the Mewat area, where a wedding function was held on April 19. During the function, two grooms, Ruknuddin Meo and his nephew Ansar Meo, were seen wearing garlands.

Sarpanch says garlands were part of local tradition
Village Sarpanch Abdul Majeed said the garlands were part of local tradition and had been arranged for the occasion. "People who rent such garlands brought them here to show off during the function. There was only one garland, which both grooms wore," he said, adding that such practices are common in the area.
The SP said, "Such garlands are available on rent in Nuh, Haryana. The garland contained Rs 500 notes. Initial investigation suggests that the garland was rented."
