If clothes look so great on us in the trial room, why does the look change when we get home? Have you ever wondered?

We often go shopping at the mall. We buy new clothes. To make sure they fit properly, we try them on in the trial room. Do they fit us perfectly? Do they feel heavy on our body? We look at this. When we try on clothes in the trial room, they feel heavy. They also fit us. That's why we fall in love with them. At that moment, we don't look at the price. We immediately buy them and bring them home. But when we get home, when we try them on to show our family, our faces fall. Because as soon as we get home, we realize the clothes aren't right, the color isn't right, and they don't fit us. We feel cheated. Sometimes we don't even wear the clothes we bought. Why don't we like the clothes that looked good in the mall trial room when we get home? Why does this happen? Let's find out.
Why do clothes look good in trial rooms?
1. The true play of lighting:
If you've ever noticed a mall's trial room, they typically use warm lighting. These lights don't come from above, but from the sides or behind the mirror. The advantage of this is that shadows on the face and body are less visible. This makes the skin appear more glowing, and the color of the clothes appears more attractive and luxurious. However, if we wear the same dress at home under simple tubelight or white light, its true appearance is revealed.
2. Special mirror settings:
Mirrors used in malls and stores aren't simple mirrors. They're often slightly tilted. If the mirror is tilted slightly outward from the bottom, you appear taller and slimmer. Furthermore, many brands nowadays use slimming mirrors, which make you appear 5 to 10 percent fitter than you actually are. When we see ourselves looking this smart, our brain immediately signals to buy those clothes.
3. Cleanliness and ambiance:
Trial rooms are always kept incredibly clean and fragrant. The temperature is also perfectly maintained (cool air from the AC). When we escape the heat and noise of the outside world and look at ourselves in a beautiful mirror in that calm, cool environment, our feel-good factor increases. Even plain clothes seem to look better.
