As soon as Holi arrives, rooftops, streets, and homes are filled with showers of gulal and colors. Children, youngsters, and elders alike celebrate the festival drenched in vibrant hues. But while playing with colors brings immense joy, removing those stubborn, chemical-laden colors later becomes a big headache.
Many times, the dark colors available in the market stick so deeply to the skin that even repeated washing with soap, face wash, and water doesn’t help. When the color refuses to fade even the next day, people often panic after looking in the mirror. Skin starts feeling dry, irritated, and dull, increasing the stress further.
If you’re also worried about how to remove Holi color from your face this time, there’s good news. A social media creator has shared a simple yet effective method that can clean your face in just 30 minutes—without damaging your skin.
How to Remove Holi Color from Your Face?
An Instagram user named Shashank Alshi shared a video explaining an easy three-step process to remove Holi colors from the face. According to him, by following these steps correctly, even stubborn and permanent colors can be removed gently.
Let’s look at these three steps in detail:
Step 1: Coconut Oil Massage
If permanent gulal or dark color has stuck to your face, don’t panic. First, take a generous amount of coconut oil and massage it gently onto your face. Continue massaging for 5–10 minutes.
Coconut oil helps loosen the color pigments stuck to the skin and softens them, making the color easier to remove without harsh scrubbing.
Step 2: Natural Gram Flour Scrub
Now prepare a natural scrub by mixing:
-
Gram flour (besan)
-
A pinch of turmeric
-
Yogurt
-
A little water
-
A few drops of oil (coconut or olive oil)
Apply this paste to your face and gently massage for 5–10 minutes.
Gram flour works as a natural exfoliator and removes dirt and color particles. Turmeric helps soothe irritation and redness, while yogurt’s mild lactic acid helps reduce pigmentation and keeps the skin moisturized and calm.
Step 3: Face Wash and Yogurt Cleanse
Finally, mix a small amount of face wash with yogurt and apply it to your face like a cleanser. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
The face wash removes any leftover oil and dirt, while yogurt restores moisture and gives the skin a soft, healthy glow. This step ensures your skin doesn’t feel dry or stretched after cleaning.
