Ghaziabad Horror: 6-Year-Old Girl Beaten to Death by Stepmother After Falling into Drain, Police Arrest Accused

A deeply disturbing incident has come to light from Ghaziabad, where a six-year-old girl was allegedly beaten to death by her stepmother after the child fell into a drain while playing and her clothes got dirty.

The incident occurred in Dasna, under the Wave City police station area. According to police, the stepmother locked the child inside a room and assaulted her with a stick for nearly half an hour. The severe beating reportedly broke the child’s arms and legs, and her body turned blue due to the injuries. The exact time of death is still being determined.

Neighbours said they heard the child screaming and rushed to the house. When the door was opened, the accused woman attempted to flee but was caught by locals, who immediately informed the police.

Police reached the spot, took custody of the child’s body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. The accused woman was detained on the spot and taken in for questioning.

Family background

The accused, identified as Nisha, lived with her husband Akram in Dasna. Akram works as a daily wage labourer. His first wife had died around four years ago, and the child, Shifa, was born from that marriage. Akram married Nisha two years ago. On the day of the incident, Akram had gone out to work, and the crime allegedly occurred in his absence.

Police action

According to officials, the woman initially slapped and kicked the child before repeatedly beating her with a stick. The injuries proved fatal. On receiving information, Priya Shripal reached the spot and took the accused into custody. Further legal proceedings are underway.

The child’s father told police that his daughter had earlier complained to him about being beaten by her stepmother. He claimed he had warned his wife not to repeat such behaviour.

Police have detained both the stepmother and the father for questioning. According to officials, the accused stepmother has confessed to the crime. The case is under active investigation.
