National Desk: A shocking case of long-running, secret exploitation at a renowned spiritual and educational institution in Vasant Kunj, Delhi, has now come to light. 60-year-old Chaitanyananda, who claimed to be a saint, teacher, and social reformer, was actually the leader of a sinister gang. This so-called saint, who spoke of spirituality, education, and values, had become a symbol of fear and humiliation for female students.
Spying in the Name of Surveillance
The security cameras installed at the institute, supposedly for the safety of the students, actually became Chaitanyananda's most powerful weapon. Hidden cameras were installed in hostels, common areas, and even near bathrooms. He personally monitored the live feeds from these cameras, completely violating the privacy of the female students.
Shameful interrogations
Several victims reported that Chaitanyananda would ask extremely vulgar and objectionable questions about their personal lives, such as whether they had ever had sexual relations with a man, or whether they had used a condom. These questions repeatedly subjected them to mental torture. Public humiliation of female students was common at the institute. One victim reported being publicly humiliated by calling her 'characterless' simply because she had a boyfriend. Another student, sharing her experience, said she saw a girl running away from Chaitanyananda's office in torn clothes.
Night Calls and Pressured Trips
Several female students testified that they were often called alone to Chaitanyananda's room at night. They were also pressured to go on trips organized by the institute, both abroad and domestically. It's easy to imagine what transpired there.
Blackmail and intimidation tactics:
If any girl protested or questioned the situation, she was threatened with failure, withholding her scholarship, and expulsion from the institute. An organized gang was behind this, with three female employees fully supporting Chaitanyananda.
A web of digital espionage
monitored the students' every move through their mobile phones, online activities, and cameras. This entire system was systematically designed to mentally control them.
A life of luxury, a hidden criminal:
The investigation revealed that Chaitanyananda owned luxury cars worth approximately ₹1.5 crore (approximately $1.5 crore). One of the cars even had a fake United Nations (UN) license plate to avoid suspicion. Police have seized these vehicles.
Fake Books and Institutional Corruption
Chaitanyananda is accused of printing fake books in his own name and operating a fake printing press in the name of the institute. He rented out the institute's land to private companies and embezzled large sums of money. Strong evidence has been found that the DVR was tampered with to erase CCTV recordings.
Still absconding, constantly changing disguises.
Police say he has been absconding since August 2025 and has been frequently changing disguises to conceal his identity. His last known location is reported to be around Mumbai. Teams are deployed to arrest him.
