Delhi Crime News: An incident occurred at midnight in Sarojini Nagar, Delhi, that has left the Delhi Police red-faced. While the Delhi Police has uncovered the incident, it highlights the dominance of the "N-Gang," a group of minors. In the Sarojini Nagar robbery, Delhi Police has arrested five minors, one of whom is only 12 years old. The criminals committed the crime near the AIIMS flyover and looted ₹35,200.

An incident has emerged in the national capital's posh Sarojini Nagar area, raising serious questions about security and the increasing trend of child crime. A new gang of minors, known as the "N-Gang," has emerged in Delhi, attacking pedestrians not just day or night, but in the wee hours of the morning, between 3 and 5 a.m. The Delhi Police have busted one such gang, comprised of minor boys aged 12 and 16. On January 10th, a man was robbed of thousands of rupees at midnight in the busy Safdarjung and AIIMS flyover areas. However, the Delhi Police's prompt and swift action solved the case within just eight hours. The police have also arrested five minors in this case, the youngest of whom is only 12 years old.

The entire incident occurred in the early hours of January 10, 2026. Police received a PCR call at around 3:52 a.m., in which the victim reported that he was passing near the AIIMS flyover when three young men attacked him. The attackers not only assaulted him but also stole his mobile phone and ₹35,200 in cash, before fleeing towards Safdarjung. This information sent shockwaves through the police department, as the area is considered highly sensitive and high-profile.

Fear of 'N-Gang' in Delhi?

Given the seriousness of the incident, a special team was immediately formed under the direction of Southwest District DCP Amit Goyal. Led by Inspector Atul Tyagi, SHO of Sarojini Nagar police station, the team included SI Anoop Kumar, Head Constables Yogesh and Ajit, and Constables Saurabh, Munhesh, Ram Kumar, and Mahesh. Under the supervision of the ACP of Safdarjung Enclave, the team immediately inspected the scene and began a technical investigation.

CCTV revealed the secret

The police team began fieldwork in the dead of night. Local informants were activated and footage from CCTV cameras in the area was examined. Based on technical verification and ground information, the police identified the suspects within hours. Acting swiftly, the police detained five minors. The oldest of the arrested juveniles is 16 years old, and the youngest is 12 years old.

You will be surprised to know the age of the accused

During interrogation by Delhi Police, the main accused confessed to the crime. He stated that he had stopped the victim and snatched the money. The minors held him down to prevent him from resisting. After the robbery, the money was divided among the five boys. Although three boys, including a 12-year-old boy, were not directly involved in the assault, they fled with the gang and took their share of the loot.

He does this work before the incident

The investigation revealed another shocking revelation. Before committing the crime, these minors had consumed drugs in the Nanakpura area. In an intoxicated state, they headed towards the AIIMS flyover and INA, targeting a man walking alone. When the police investigated their records, they discovered that four of these teenagers had previously been involved in similar crimes.

Delhi Police investigation

The police have recovered the entire amount of the loot, amounting to ₹35,200, from the arrested teenagers. An FIR has been registered at the Sarojini Nagar police station under sections 309(4)/3(5) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Police are now investigating whether these children are being targeted by a larger gang or whether they were committing these crimes on their own due to drug addiction.

The Delhi Police's prompt action in this incident has further strengthened public confidence. The arrest of the accused and the 100% recovery within just eight hours demonstrate the police's professionalism. The police are currently pursuing further legal proceedings, and the juveniles will be presented before the Juvenile Justice Board. Increased nighttime patrols on the city's busy flyovers are also being considered to prevent such incidents in the future.
