The state government has made room booking in government guest houses, circuit houses, and inspection buildings online. Now, ministers, MLAs, other honorable members, and officials and employees of the central and state governments can all book rooms online and pay the prescribed fee. Even ordinary people who are acquaintances of officials can stay in the circuit houses.

He or she will need to provide the details of an officer or employee to book a room online. Under the new system, more than 40 people have booked rooms at the Circuit House and Inspection Building in just about a month, and more than 75,000 rupees have been deposited into the government account.

The allocation was arbitrary

The Public Works Department operates a total of 21 circuit houses and 334 guest houses in various districts across the state. Until now, rooms in these buildings were allocated arbitrarily. Any honorable person, official, or political party official could barge in and forcibly open a room.
Only a few people paid the prescribed fee after staying. As a result, the rooms in the circuit houses and inspection buildings were full, but the fee was minimal.

State Chief Secretary SP Goyal issued an order for the new system. Under this system, any room can now be allotted online. The prescribed fee will also be paid online. All ministers, MLAs, MLCs, MPs, judges, officials and employees of state and central government departments and corporations, and their relatives, can book rooms.

Portal created for booking

Bookings are being made in all districts of the state through the guesthouse.uppwd.gov.in portal, which was created for online booking. Fees are being collected online through this portal. After booking, the district administration accepts or rejects it based on VIP movement and eligibility. In districts with more than ten rooms, four rooms will always be reserved, and in districts with fewer than ten rooms, two rooms will always be reserved.
