The results of the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections are out, and the ruling National Democratic Alliance has registered a sweeping victory. Voting was held in two phases, on November 6 and 11, across all 243 seats, with counting for all constituencies taking place simultaneously on November 11.
The NDA crossed the 200-seat mark, leaving the opposition bloc in a severely weakened position. The Bharatiya Janata Party emerged as the largest party with 89 seats, followed closely by JD(U) with 85 seats. Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) secured 19 seats, while Jitan Ram Manjhi’s HAM won 5 seats. This ensures that the NDA will once again form the government in Bihar.
On the other hand, the opposition suffered major setbacks. The Rashtriya Janata Dal managed to win only 25 seats, making it one of its poorest performances. Congress was reduced to just 6 seats. AIMIM repeated its 2020 performance by winning 5 seats, while other smaller parties together secured 9 seats.
