Big news for ration card holders! Free rations may be discontinued. Complete your e-KYC immediately from home

The Department of Food and Public Distribution (NFSA) has made e-KYC mandatory for all ration card holders in the country. If you haven't yet completed e-KYC for all members listed on your ration card, your name may be removed from the ration card list in the coming months and you may lose your ration.

The government is conducting this verification to curb fake ration cards and ensure ration benefits reach eligible beneficiaries. Now, you don't need to repeatedly visit government offices or ration dealers; you can complete this task from your smartphone.

Easy way to do e-KYC online through mobile app

If your mobile number is linked to your Aadhaar card, you can complete e-KYC in minutes using the Mera Ration App or the Umang App:

Download the app: Download and install the official 'Mera Ration 2.0' app from the Google Play Store.

Login Process: Enter your Aadhaar number or Ration Card number and login to the app using the OTP received on your mobile.

Select the e-KYC section: Click on the 'e-KYC Status' or 'Manage Members' option displayed on the homepage.

Check Member Status: Here the e-KYC status (Complete / Pending) will be displayed against the names of all your family members.

Verification with Aadhaar FaceRD: Select the Aadhaar FaceRD feature for the member whose e-KYC is pending. The phone's front camera will open, and you can complete the face authentication process by scanning your face.

If it is not online, then get biometric verification done at the shop.
Those whose mobile number is not linked with Aadhaar, can go to their nearest ration dealer (government ration shop) and complete the biometric e-KYC by giving their fingerprint through the POS (Point of Sale) machine.

Tips for adding a new member to the ration card:
If you need to add a child or a new bride to the ration card, go to the state's Food Supply Portal (PDS Portal) and select the 'Add Member' option. The new member's Aadhaar card and birth/marriage certificate are required.
