Mathura Accident Today: Six people died in a horrific accident at milestone 88 of the Yamuna Expressway at 3 a.m. Saturday. Passengers of a bus traveling from Delhi to Kanpur were crushed by a speeding container while alighting to use the restroom. The cause of the accident is believed to be the bus being parked on the expressway instead of in a safe zone.

The havoc of speeding on the Yamuna Expressway continues unabated. Six people lost their lives in a horrific road accident at Milestone 88 in the Surir police station area early Saturday morning. Passengers of a private bus traveling from Delhi to Kanpur were standing on the roadside to use the restroom. An uncontrolled, high-speed container coming from behind first hit the bus and then brutally crushed the passengers standing below.

According to reports, this tragic accident occurred at 3:00 am. A bus full of passengers was traveling from Delhi to Kanpur. Along the way, some passengers stopped the bus to use the restroom. According to regulations, the bus should have stopped at a protected "green zone" or "wayside amenity," but the driver parked the bus in the middle of the expressway.

As the passengers got off the bus and stood on the side, a container coming from behind struck them with great force. The accident was so horrific that six passengers died on the spot, while one person was seriously injured.

These deceased were identified

Police arrived at the scene and began relief operations. Four of the deceased have been identified so far. They include Devesh, a resident of Basti, Sonu, a resident of Auraiya, Aslam, a resident of Kannauj, and Santosh, a resident of Delhi. Efforts are underway to identify the remaining two victims. A seriously injured passenger has been admitted to a nearby hospital, where his condition remains critical.

The bus did not stop in the green zone

Initial investigations have revealed that the primary cause of the accident was the bus being parked in the wrong place. Parking is prohibited on the Yamuna Expressway; vehicles can only be parked in designated "safe zones." Due to darkness and high speed, the container driver failed to see the bus, leading to the horrific accident. The incident has caused panic in the area, and the police have sent the bodies for post-mortem.
