Why should a bowl full of salt be kept in the fridge during the rainy season? Even those who have been using it for years don't know the answer

Fridge Tips: It is common for the humidity in the air to increase during the rainy season. However, very few people know that this humidity can damage many electronic devices in the house, including the fridge. But most people do not know that this damage can be prevented to a great extent by keeping salt inside the fridge.

Fridge Tips: Monsoon season is going on and during this time the humidity in the air increases a lot. Everyone knows that there is an increase in humidity in the air, but this increased humidity can prove to be harmful for the electronic devices present in your house. Now take a look at your fridge. During the rainy season, the humidity inside the fridge increases due to which the vegetables kept in it start spoiling quickly. Not only this, due to increased humidity, a bad smell also starts coming from it.

Today we have come up with a strong solution to overcome these problems. People have been using their fridge for years but not everyone knows that if salt is kept in a small bowl in the fridge, it is very beneficial. Let us tell you.

Salt absorbs moisture

During the rainy season or when the fridge is opened repeatedly, moisture accumulates inside it. Due to excess moisture, vegetables start spoiling quickly and bacteria also start growing. Salt has the power to absorb moisture. Therefore, if you keep a bowl full of salt in the fridge, it absorbs the excess moisture, due to which the fridge remains dry and clean from inside.

Salt removes odor

When various things like vegetables, fruits, cooked food and dairy items are kept in the fridge for a long time, they start emitting gas. This gas spreads throughout the fridge and creates a strange smell. In such a situation, salt proves to be helpful because it absorbs moisture and odor. This eliminates the smell inside the fridge and due to less moisture, there is less pressure on the system of the fridge, due to which it works smoothly and its life also increases.

How to store salt in the fridge?

To remove the smell and moisture from the fridge, you can fill 100 to 150 grams of coarse salt in a small bowl or open box and keep it in a corner of the fridge. Salt loses its effect after absorbing moisture, so it is necessary to change it every 15–20 days. If you do not want to use salt, then baking soda can also be used in its place. Filling baking soda in a bowl and keeping it in the fridge also reduces the smell.
