When Shah Rukh Khan Escaped a Helicopter Accident During Shooting: The Superstar’s Close Brush With Danger

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, known for performing his own stunts, has faced numerous injuries throughout his illustrious 33-year career. While shooting high-risk action sequences, the actor has often encountered accidents — but one particular incident from the 1990s stands out as one of his most dangerous experiences on set.

During the filming of the 1997 movie “Koyla”, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit, the actor narrowly escaped a tragic mishap involving a helicopter. As part of an action sequence, a helicopter flew dangerously close to Shah Rukh, injuring him and causing him to fall to the ground. Despite the terrifying moment, he completed the shoot. In another scene from the same film, he was also surrounded by real flames, showcasing his commitment to authenticity in performance.

This was not the only time SRK got injured on set. While shooting his earlier film “Darr,” he was accidentally pushed by co-star Anupam Kher, resulting in three fractured ribs. These incidents highlight the physical risks Shah Rukh has taken throughout his career to deliver memorable performances.

Shah Rukh Khan began his Bollywood journey in 1992 with “Deewana.” Since then, he has remained one of Hindi cinema’s most consistent leading men. More recently, the actor sustained another injury while filming his upcoming movie “King,” for which he underwent surgery in the United States.

On the work front, Shah Rukh was last seen in “Dunki” (2023). His next project, “King,” directed by Siddharth Anand, is set for release in 2026 and will also feature his daughter Suhana Khan.
