The foldable smartphone segment in India is about to get another premium contender. Vivo has confirmed the India launch of its latest foldable smartphone, the Vivo X Fold 6.

The phone is scheduled to make its India debut on October 6, alongside the Vivo V80 and Vivo S2 FE. While Vivo has not yet revealed the Indian price or exact variant lineup, the specifications of the model launched in China give us a good idea of what to expect.

From a massive foldable display and a 200MP camera to a huge battery, the X Fold 6 is packed with flagship-level hardware.

Vivo X Fold 6 Spotted in Blue

Vivo India has teased the upcoming foldable smartphone on X, revealing the device in a blue colour option.

The design appears similar to the Vivo X Fold 6 introduced in China earlier this year. However, Vivo has not yet confirmed how many colour options will be offered in India.

The company has also teased a Mixed Reality headset at the launch event. It remains unclear whether the headset will actually go on sale in India or will simply be showcased.

8.02-Inch Foldable AMOLED Display

The Vivo X Fold 6 features a large 8.02-inch internal AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

When folded, users get a 6.51-inch cover display that can be used like a conventional smartphone.

The Chinese version is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super chipset and runs OriginOS 6 Fold based on Android 16.

This combination is aimed at delivering flagship-level performance while also supporting the multitasking capabilities expected from a foldable phone.

200MP Zeiss Camera Setup

Photography is another major highlight of the X Fold 6.

The phone comes with a triple rear-camera system developed in partnership with Zeiss. The setup includes:

• 200MP primary camera with OIS

• 50MP ultra-wide camera

• Periscope telephoto camera

The combination of a high-resolution primary sensor, ultra-wide lens and periscope telephoto camera is designed to give users more flexibility for everyday photography, landscapes and long-distance shots.

Massive 7,000mAh Battery

Battery capacity is another area where the X Fold 6 stands out.

The phone packs a 7,000mAh battery and supports 80W wired fast charging. It also supports 40W wireless charging.

For a foldable smartphone, the large battery could be particularly useful for users who frequently multitask, stream videos or use the large internal display for extended periods.

Slim Design and Water Resistance

Despite carrying a large battery and foldable display, the phone is reported to measure just 4.40mm in thickness when unfolded and weigh approximately 228 grams.

The device also carries IP58 and IP59 ratings for protection against dust and water, adding another layer of durability to the premium foldable.

Vivo X Fold 6 Price in China

In China, the Vivo X Fold 6 starts at CNY 7,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. This is roughly equivalent to ₹1.14 lakh before considering taxes and other costs.

The top-end 16GB RAM and 1TB storage version is priced at CNY 10,999, which converts to approximately ₹1.58 lakh.

However, these conversions should not be treated as the expected Indian prices. Vivo could price the Indian variants differently depending on taxes, specifications and market positioning.

A Serious Premium Foldable Contender

With a large 8.02-inch display, Dimensity 9500 Super chipset, 200MP Zeiss camera system, 7,000mAh battery and fast wired and wireless charging, the Vivo X Fold 6 is shaping up to be one of Vivo's most ambitious foldable smartphones.

The biggest details still awaited for the Indian market are the exact price, storage variants and colour options. Those details are expected to become clearer with the official India launch.
