VinFast VF6 Secures 5-Star BNCAP Rating: Safety Features Put It on Par with Hyundai Creta Electric

The VinFast VF6, a mid-size electric SUV, has achieved an impressive 5-star rating in Bharat NCAP (BNCAP) crash tests, strengthening its position as one of the safest electric vehicles in India. Launched in 2025, the VF6 delivered strong results in both Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and Child Occupant Protection (COP), placing it in direct competition with rivals like the Hyundai Creta Electric.

BNCAP Crash Test Performance

In the latest crash test assessment, the VinFast VF6 scored:

  • 27.13 out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection

  • 44.41 out of 49 in Child Occupant Protection

In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the SUV scored 11.13 out of 16, while it achieved a perfect 16 out of 16 in the side movable barrier test. However, the report noted weak driver chest protection during frontal impact, marking the only area of concern.

For child safety, the VF6 performed exceptionally well, scoring:

  • 22.41 out of 24 in dynamic tests

  • 12 out of 12 in child restraint system (CRS) installation

  • 10 out of 13 in vehicle-based child safety assessment

Comprehensive Safety Package

The strong crash test results are backed by an extensive list of safety features. The VinFast VF6 comes equipped with:

  • Seven airbags, including a driver knee airbag

  • 3-point seatbelts with reminders for all seats

  • 360-degree HD surround-view camera

  • Front and rear parking sensors

  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

  • ISOFIX child seat mounts

  • Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems)

In addition, the SUV complies with AIS-100 pedestrian protection standards, further enhancing overall road safety.
