Agnivesh Agarwal, son of Vedanta Group Chairman Anil Agarwal, has passed away in the United States. He died of sudden cardiac arrest at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York while undergoing treatment following a skiing accident. Anil Agarwal announced the news in an emotional statement.

Anil Agarwal shared this information by posting on his official X account. In his emotional post, he described this day as the worst day of his life. He said that Agnivesh had met with an accident while skiing in America. After which he was undergoing treatment at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. His condition was improving, but he died due to a sudden cardiac arrest.

In a deeply emotional post on X, Anil Agarwal wrote that the pain of losing his son is beyond words. He said, "For a father, bidding farewell to his son is unbearable. It's a grief beyond our imagination. A son should not go before his father. This loss has shattered us so deeply that we are still trying to comprehend it. To me, he was not just my son. He was my friend. He was my pride. He was my world. Kiran and I are devastated. Yet, in our grief, we remind ourselves that the thousands of young people working at Vedanta are also our children."

He also said that the thousands of young people associated with the Vedanta Group are like his own children. He recalled his son's belief in a self-reliant India and the fact that the country lacks nothing. In memory of his son, Anil Agarwal reiterated his commitment to society, saying that he will continue to devote a large portion of his income to social service as before and vows to live a simpler life. He also expressed gratitude to his family, friends, colleagues, and well-wishers. Concluding his statement, he wrote that Agnivesh will live on in our hearts, our work, and the lives of all those he touched. I will strive to carry forward his light.

Agarwal said Agnivesh was born on June 3, 1976, in Patna. Coming from a middle-class Bihari family, Agnivesh made his mark in sports, music, and leadership. He studied at Mayo College, Ajmer, and later founded Fujairah Gold and served as chairman of Hindustan Zinc. Along with his professional contributions, he was known for his simplicity, sensitivity, and humanitarian nature.
