Vaibhav Suryavanshi watched from the dugout with a sad face... Why wasn't he allowed to bat in the Super Over? This is the major reason

Team India lost to Bangladesh in the semi-finals of the Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025. Chasing a target of 194, India tied the score, forcing the match into a Super Over. However, India failed to score a single run in the Super Over, and Bangladesh won thanks to a wide ball. The biggest reason for this defeat is believed to be the team management's poor decision in the Super Over, which included sending captain Jitesh Sharma, Ramdeep Singh, and Ashutosh Sharma to bat instead of explosive batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi.

Big mistake in the super over

This match was played on Friday in the semi-finals of the Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025. India chased the target of 194 runs given by Bangladesh and took the match to the Super Over. But in the Super Over, India could not score a single run and lost. Bangladesh won with the help of a wide ball. The main reason for this defeat was the controversial decision of the team management in the Super Over. The management did not give a chance to explosive batsman like Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who had scored 38 runs in 15 balls. Instead, they sent captain Jitesh Sharma, Ramdeep Singh and Ashutosh Sharma to bat.

After the match, captain Jitesh Sharma explained the reasoning behind this decision. He said, "They (Vaibhav and Priyansh) are masters of the powerplay, but in the death overs, it's me, Ashu, and Raman who can hit at will. So, it was a team decision and my decision as well."

Vaibhav looked upset

However, some photos are circulating on social media showing a dejected Vaibhav Suryavanshi after India's batting collapse in the Super Over. These images have sparked considerable outrage among fans. Some even suggested that Jitesh Sharma was seeking attention and therefore prevented Vaibhav from batting.

No runs were scored in the super over.

In this match, Team India performed poorly in both batting and bowling. Bangladesh, batting first, scored 194 for 6. India equalized the target while chasing, but lost in the Super Over. A major reason for India's defeat was the team management's poor decision in the Super Over. They sent Jitesh Sharma, Ashutosh Sharma, and Ramdeep Singh instead of explosive batsmen like Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Priyansh Arya.

Bangladesh fast bowler Ripon Mondal dismissed Jitesh and Ashutosh off consecutive balls, dashing India's hopes. Bangladesh won the match, even though one of their batsmen, Yasir Ali, was dismissed off the very first ball. This victory was achieved thanks to a wide ball bowled by Indian bowler Suyash Sharma.
