UMANG App Can Save You Multiple Trips to Government Offices! Over 2,400 Services Available on Your Phone

Need to check your EPF balance, pay a utility bill, download a document, or access government services? Instead of visiting multiple websites or government offices, you can do much of it through a single app.

The UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance) platform has become one of India's largest digital government service portals, offering access to more than 2,400 services from central, state, and local government departments. The platform has already crossed 10 crore registered users, making it a one-stop solution for several public services.

What Is UMANG?

Developed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), UMANG is designed to bring government services under one digital platform. It is available through both a mobile app and a web portal, allowing citizens to access services anytime without visiting multiple offices.

Services You Can Access

UMANG provides access to a wide range of services, including:

  • EPFO balance and claim services

  • PAN-related services

  • Aadhaar-linked services

  • DigiLocker integration

  • Passport-related services

  • Utility bill payments

  • Pension services

  • Scholarship applications

  • Driving licence and transport services

  • Examination results and certificates

The number of services continues to grow as more government departments join the platform.

One Login for Multiple Government Services

Instead of creating separate accounts for different government websites, users can sign in to UMANG and access multiple services from a single interface. This simplifies document management and reduces the need to remember multiple usernames and passwords.

DigiLocker Integration Makes Documentation Easier

One of UMANG's biggest advantages is its integration with DigiLocker. Users can securely access important digital documents such as:

  • Aadhaar

  • Driving Licence

  • Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC)

  • PAN-related documents

  • Educational certificates

This makes it easier to complete online applications without repeatedly uploading the same documents.

Why It Matters

With more government services becoming digital, platforms like UMANG are helping reduce paperwork, save time, and improve access to public services. Whether it's checking an EPF claim, paying a bill, or retrieving official documents, many tasks that once required standing in queues can now be completed from a smartphone.
