TVS Motor Leads EV Race: Sells Over 3 Lakh E-Scooters in a Year, iQube Emerges as Top Choice

The demand for electric vehicles in India is steadily rising, with electric two-wheelers leading the shift toward cleaner mobility. While several companies have entered this fast-growing segment, TVS Motor Company has now emerged as a dominant force, setting new benchmarks in sales and market presence.

The financial year 2025–26 has been particularly remarkable for TVS, as the company crossed a major milestone by selling over 300,000 electric scooters in a single year for the first time. According to available data, TVS delivered nearly 309,984 units between April 1, 2025, and mid-March 2026, while wholesale figures touched over 328,000 units in the first 11 months alone. This marks a significant growth of around 33% compared to the previous year, firmly establishing the company as a market leader.

Despite intense competition, TVS maintained its top position for most of the year. Although Bajaj Auto briefly overtook it in October, TVS quickly regained its lead and continued to dominate the segment in the following months. Other major players like Ather Energy, Ola Electric, and Hero MotoCorp are still trailing behind, with none crossing the 300,000 mark so far this financial year.

Among all its offerings, the TVS iQube has emerged as the company’s best-selling and most in-demand electric scooter. Its strong performance, practical features, and reliability have made it a preferred choice among Indian consumers. Additionally, newer models like the Orbiter, launched in August 2025, are also gaining traction in the market.

TVS has further strengthened its position by introducing innovative solutions such as the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, allowing customers to purchase scooters at a lower upfront cost while addressing battery-related concerns. The recently launched Orbiter V1 variant, priced competitively, reflects the company’s focus on affordability and accessibility in the EV segment.

In comparison, while Ola Electric had previously crossed the 300,000 sales mark in FY2025, its performance has declined significantly this year. TVS, on the other hand, has shown consistent growth and is now expected to close FY2026 with record-breaking sales of over 320,000 units.

In conclusion, TVS Motor Company’s strong sales performance, combined with popular models like the iQube and innovative offerings, has positioned it as a clear leader in India’s electric two-wheeler market. As EV adoption continues to grow, the company appears well-placed to maintain its dominance in the coming years.
