Today's Weather: Rainfall has caused a change in the weather in many states across the country. According to the latest update from the Indian Meteorological Department, heavy rain and storms are still expected in several states today, due to which an alert has been issued.

The IMD has predicted heavy rains in 12 states, including Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, on Bade Mangal, May 12, and said that strong winds with a speed of 80 to 85 kilometers per hour will also blow during the rains.

How will the weather be in Delhi?

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for moderate rain in the capital Delhi on May 12th. Wind speeds could reach 40 to 50 kilometers per hour during this period. The maximum temperature today is expected to be 39 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be 27 degrees Celsius.

What will the weather be like in Punjab?

In Punjab, moderate to heavy rain is expected in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Rupnagar, Ludhiana, Moga, Batala, and Jalandhar on May 11 and 12. Strong winds with gusts of up to 50 to 55 kilometers per hour are possible during this period.

Storm and rain alert issued in Rajasthan

Heavy rain and thunderstorm warnings have been issued for Alwar, Sikar, Churu, Bikaner, Barmer, Karauli, Jodhpur, and Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan. Winds could reach speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour in these areas. The maximum temperature in Jaipur is expected to be 42 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be 27 degrees Celsius.

'Yellow Alert' in UP

A "yellow alert" for rain and thunderstorms has been issued in several districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Saharanpur, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Aligarh, Mathura, Agra, Etawah, Sitapur, Auraiya, Kanpur, Farrukhabad, Bijnor, Mainpuri, Hardoi, Jhansi, and Lalitpur. In Lucknow, the maximum temperature could reach 37 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature could reach 27 degrees Celsius.

Bihar rain forecast

On May 12th, heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in several areas of Bihar, including West and East Champaran, Madhepura, Gopalganj, Gaya, Vaishali, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria, Purnia, Katihar, Kishanganj, and Bhagalpur. Winds will blow at speeds of up to 70 kilometers per hour.

Rain and snowfall alert in Uttarakhand

Heavy rain and thunderstorm warnings have been issued for Nainital, Chamoli, Dehradun, Pithoragarh, Pauri Garhwal, Rudraprayag, and Bageshwar districts of Uttarakhand. Strong winds with speeds of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour are also expected here. The maximum temperature in Dehradun is expected to reach 32 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to reach 22 degrees Celsius.

Heavy rain alert issued in Himachal

Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in Chamba, Shimla, Mandi, Sirmaur, Solan, Kangra, Kinnaur, and Una in Himachal Pradesh. Strong winds with speeds of up to 60 to 70 kilometers per hour are expected during this period. The maximum temperature in Manali will be 11 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be 2 degrees Celsius.

There will be rain in Tamil Nadu-Karnataka

Heavy rains accompanied by strong winds are likely over most parts of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Rain alert in Jammu and Kashmir

A "yellow alert" for rain and thunderstorms has been issued for Udhampur, Kulgam, Anantnag, Jammu, Muzaffarabad, Ramban, Kishtwar, Baramulla, and Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir. Winds of up to 50 to 60 kilometers per hour are expected in these areas.
