Dr. Akanksha says that you can perform this test by taking just 5 to 10 minutes once a month. She also explains the best time for breast self-examination.

What is the right time to check?

  • Every woman should get this test done once a month.
  • The best time is a few days after your period ends.
  • There is less swelling or heaviness in the breasts during this time.
  • Try to fix a day every month.

What to do first?

She explained that before starting the examination, it's important to understand one thing: first, you should recognize your breasts. Now, when you examine them monthly, you'll know what changes have occurred.

How to do breast self-examination?

  • Use the tips of your middle three fingers
  • Now you have to apply pressure with all three fingers in different ways.
  • Apply pressure slowly with the first finger, a little faster with the second and a little harder with the third finger

Detection methods

  • Move it in a circular motion all over the breast.
  • Go from the outside to the nipple and back
  • Move up and down to make sure no part is missed

  • Change in breast size or shape
  • Skin color change
