In a small village in Romania, chickens have recently become the talk of the town—not because of their eggs, but because they are strutting around wearing tiny red glasses. Yes, actual glasses.
This odd fashion statement began when farmers realized that their chickens were fighting too much. Apparently, when chickens see the color red, they sometimes attack each other, mistaking scratches or wounds for weakness. To solve the problem, farmers started fitting the birds with rose-tinted spectacles, which literally change their view of the world.
At first, the villagers laughed, thinking it was some kind of poultry prank. But soon, they noticed that the chickens had calmed down, laid more eggs, and strutted proudly around the farmyard as if they were in a feathery fashion show. Tourists passing through now stop just to snap selfies with the stylish hens, and one farmer claims he earns more from visitors than from selling eggs.
Some animal rights activists argue that it’s cruel, while others say it’s genius. But for now, in this tiny village, the birds are clucking happily behind their bizarre eyewear—proof that sometimes, even chickens just need a new perspective.
